Dean Halter, IT Risk Management Officer The internet has made significant advances for the average user in the past 10 - 15 years; however, accessing the internet is less safe now than ever before. A poorly protected computer may be compromised within minutes of accessing the internet. Users need to be aware of the different threats, and -- given the sensitive information many of us work with on a daily basis -- their responsibility to protect themselves and the University community. During this session, Dean Halter, IT Risk Management Officer, UDit, will discuss some of the threats and go over simple things users can do to protect their computers and data, both at work and at home.
